NOTE: Do not install MaxSync for Microsoft Exchange on a Microsoft Exchange Server machine.

  2. The machine where MaxSync for Microsoft Exchange will be installed must have the following software installed:

  3. Windows Account for MaxSync for Microsoft Exchange

  4. MaxSync for Microsoft Exchange runs as a service under an account that has the "Send As", "Receive As", Administer Information Store", and "View Information Store Status" permissions to the Microsoft Exchange mailbox store. This account must be specified during the MaxSync for Microsoft Exchange installation.

    For information on assigning these permissions, see the Maximizer CRM Administrator's Guide.

  5. Installing MaxSync for Microsoft Exchange

    1. On the machine where MaxSync for Microsoft Exchange will be installed, log in using the account identified above.
    2. Create a Mail profile for that account.
    3. Open the Mail profile in Outlook to test connectivity.
    4. Open Maximizer and log into every Address Book that will synchronize using MaxSync for Microsoft Exchange.
    5. Install MaxSync for Microsoft Exchange.
    6. During the installation, specify the service account set up earlier.
    7. After the installation is complete, and the machine is rebooted, the MS Exchange Synchronization tab becomes available in Administrator Preferences.
    8. Open Administrator and log into the Address Book to synchronize.
    9. In the MS Exchange Synchronization tab in Administrator Preferences, select "Activate MaxSync for Microsoft Exchange for currently open Address Book".
    10. Synchronization for a Maximizer user to Microsoft Exchange user starts after mapping is set up in the user's properties in Administrator.
    11. In Administrator, open the Windows Authentication tab of the user's properties, and select the Microsoft Exchange user.
  6. Installing Collaboration Data Objects

  7. The Collaboration Data Objects component must be installed with Microsoft Outlook on the computer running MaxSync for Microsoft Exchange. If you are using Outlook 2007, you must download Collaboration Data Objects from the Microsoft website. If you are using a previous version of Outlook, you can install the component from your email application CD.

  8. Multi-Server Microsoft Exchange Environments

  9. MaxSync for Microsoft Exchange is not supported in multi-server Microsoft Exchange environments.
